Cork for flooring is harvested from a cork oak tree. This is not like when hardwood floors are made because the cork tree is not cut down to produce the flooring. The cork from the cork tree is harvested every nine years. The bark is stripped off of the tree and this is what is used to make the flooring. In turn the tree is not killed and the forest is unharmed. Cork flooring is a major environmental choice.
* WATER PROOF * EASY TO CLEAN * HARD WEARING
* COMPLETELY NATURAL * EASY TO INSTALL * SOUND ABSORBING
* ENVIRONMENTALLY FRIENDLY * WARM IN WINTER * COOL IN SUMMER
Installation is easy. On average a cork floor can take several days to complete. Floor preparation is the key to ensure a quality finish. Cork can be installed on any clean, level sub floor, however a hardboard underlay is recommended if cork tiles are being laid on a strip timber sub floor.
